I'm Lisa Morton, and for over 20 years I've been helping people, especially busy women, create homes that actually support their lives.

Here's the truth: your home isn't just where you live. It's either working for you or working against you. And most of us don't even realize it.

On this podcast, I share practical Feng Shui, holistic interior design, and real talk about how your physical space affects your health, your energy, and your ability to show up fully in your life. You'll get easy-to-implement tips you can do this weekend. You'll hear client stories that might feel like your own. And you'll learn that creating a home you actually love isn't complicated or "woo"...it's just intentional.

Whether you're feeling stuck, ready for a reset, recovering from a heavy life event, or simply wanting more peace and clarity in your home, this is for you. We'll talk about everything from your bedroom and front door to color, lighting, flow, clutter, and the energy that moves through your space.

Let's create a home that feels as good as it looks.

  • How to Refresh Your Home Without Buying Anything New: 7 Easy Feng Shui Tips (Listener Favorite)

This week I'm re-sharing a listener favorite, and honestly, it's one I needed to hear again myself. You don't have to spend a single dollar to make your home feel new. Sometimes the most powerful shifts come from rearranging, editing, and simply seeing your space with fresh eyes.

I start with the "fresh eyes" exercise I use with so many of my clients (it's also in my book, Aligned at Home), then show you how to shop your own home before you ever think about shopping in a store. From there I walk through seven simple Feng Shui refresh ideas, like rearranging furniture to change the flow of energy, swapping decor between rooms, clearing one surface completely, and creating a calm reset corner.

And stay until the end for my favorite bonus: the practice of moving 27 things when you're feeling stuck or stagnant. It's simple, it's free, and you might be surprised at how renewed your home feels.

  • Decluttering for ADHD Brains: Body Doubling, Doom Baskets & Making Peace with Your Home (with guest Stacey Hudson)
    2026/09/23

I have been counting down the days for this one. Today I'm joined by my podcasting friend Stacey Hutson, host of The Next Phase Podcast — a show for ADHD moms entering perimenopause who are looking for less information and more peace. Stacey is a longtime podcaster, former advertising copywriter, wellness chef, and food blogger, and she lives in Golden, Colorado with her husband, two daughters, a dog, and a cat.

We get into a lot in this one. Stacey walks me through the remodel her family went through after their kitchen and newly finished basement both flooded — and the insurance fight that came with it. From there, we talk about what actually got her decluttering after years of researching how to do it: a line from decluttering coach Dana K. White that reframed the whole thing — decluttering not to impress anyone, but so her home would stop holding her back.

Stacey also breaks down why decluttering can look so different for an ADHD brain. It's rarely a lack of information — it's the doing. She shares her go-to tool, body doubling (working alongside someone else, even virtually, to actually get something done), plus her own honest, funny systems: doom baskets, timing herself, even filming herself decluttering her closet to make the process feel less overwhelming.

We also talk about the emotional side of belongings — the boxes and bags we can't seem to let go of, and why it's okay to keep some things, too.

If you've ever felt frozen staring at a junk drawer or a closet that's been quietly stressing you out, this episode is for you.

Stacey is gifting listeners a video of her decluttering one of her own doom baskets in 20 minutes flat — body doubling in action. Find the link in this week's newsletter, or head to Stacy's Instagram @stacehutson.

  • 5 Feng Shui Bedroom Rules I'm Willing to Break (And the One I'm Not)
    2026/09/16

Click here to send Lisa a message.

I've been sitting on this episode for a while now, it’s one of those topics that keeps circling around in my head until I finally have to sit down and get it out. Today it's the master bedroom, and I'm walking you through five feng shui rules: which ones I'm genuinely willing to bend for a client's real life, and the one I hold firm on no matter what.

Before we get into the rules themselves, I share a little bit about my own history with perfectionism… from struggling to get ready for school as a teenager, all the way to a very expensive hand-tufted carpet lesson during my private aircraft design days. It's the reason I don't believe in "good feng shui" versus "bad feng shui." I believe in a sliding scale and in releasing the pressure to get it exactly right.

Here's what we cover in the master bedroom:

    • The bed in the command position — bendable, sort of. New construction is making this harder than ever, and I'll tell you what to do if your bed can't avoid lining up with the door.
    • Headboard against a solid wall — bendable. What to do when your only option is putting the bed in front of a window (including a real fix from a very oddly shaped bedroom of mine in Willoughby, Ohio).
    • Matching nightstands and lamps — bendable, with one important caveat about proportion. Plus a client story about mismatched nightstands mirroring a mismatched relationship.
    • Mirrors facing the bed — holding firm. This is one of the most consistent disruptors of restful sleep I see, and I'll give you a few real options if you can't remove it.
    • No exercise equipment, desks, or screens in the primary bedroom — mostly holding firm, with a practical workaround for smaller homes, condos, and RVs.

None of this is about getting your bedroom "right." It's about noticing your specific space and working with how you actually live in it.

If this resonates, I'd love to have you join me in the Aligned at Home Collective — my monthly membership group, meeting the first Wednesday of every month from 7–8pm ET. Reach out for a free first month. Prefer to go deeper one-on-one? You can also book a free 15-minute discovery call — link in the show notes.
