    2026/04/16

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through the final chapter of John, John 21. Jesus appears to His disciples a third time on the shore of a sea. After a miraculous catch of fish (where not one was lost), He invites them to a breakfast of fish and bread around a charcoal fire. Then, in a moment of compassion, Jesus restores Peter, asking him three times, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” This beautiful epilogue to John’s Gospel concludes with a call to follow Jesus, no matter what. As we see His disciples believe and follow, John encourages us to do the same.

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 20. Mary Magdalene arrives at the tomb, finds the stone rolled away, and the tomb empty. She tells Peter and John, who run back to the tomb (John gets there first), and they believe. Through this eye-witness account, John gives details all with the purpose of leading the reader to believe Jesus is true, God, the Son, and the Messiah. Everyone who encounters Jesus in this chapter believes, and John urges us to do the same.

  • S12 Episode 20: So You May Believe - John 19
    2026/04/02

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 19. This is one of the hardest passages to read in Scripture. Jesus endures beatings, carrying His own cross, and crucifixion. It’s tempting to breeze through this and get to the good news of John 20, but it is a good practice to sit in the sorrow of John 19. It reminds us that there is a cost to sin, and Jesus paid that price on our behalf. John continually reminds us that Jesus is the true Messiah, and he does that by showing the prophecies Jesus fulfilled. Jesus cries out, “It is finished,” on the cross, reminding us that for this moment He came: to accomplish the task that we could not.

    2026/03/27

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 18. John’s account of the Garden of Gethsemane reveals something profound about Jesus (hint: it’s the seventh and final “I AM”). Jesus endures a mockery of a trial. Peter denies Jesus. Pilate asks the same question many ask today: “What is truth?” Throughout John, Jesus was withdrawn when the hour was not yet, but now, He steps into the moment for which He came. This chapter is a reminder of the steadfast love of our God and that He is the absolute truth we are searching for.

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 17. This is known as the High Priestly Prayer and is Jesus’ longest recorded prayer in Scripture. In it, He prays for Himself, for the disciples, and us. His prayer is a beautiful reminder of who He is, what we have because of Jesus, and how we walk forward in obedience with each other, the body of Christ.

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 16. Jesus gives His final words of encouragement and hope to His disciples. He tells them that it is for their benefit that He goes away, because then the Holy Spirit will come to convict, guide in truth, bring glory to God, and help us be courageous. While the disciples experience grief and sorrow now, it is only temporary and will turn to joy. Jesus leaves them and us with the promise of peace. 2026/03/01

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 15. Jesus gives His final “I AM” Statement: I AM the True Vine. His call to abide in Him is a reminder that Jesus is our Source for life and sustains us through every circumstance, allowing us to bear fruit for God’s glory. As Jesus prepares to leave them physically, Jesus’ words bolster their faith, so they don’t abandon faith in the face of opposition - both from the world and their community. When we abide and remain steadfast in Him and in His Word, the result is a changed life and we do not wither in hard circumstances.

In this session, Erin Warren teaches through John 14. Jesus continues to encourage His disciples. He speaks the sixth “I AM” statement, “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He calls the disciples and us to show our love for Him through our obedience, but knowing we cannot do it alone, Jesus also promises a “Helper”, the Holy Spirit who not only dwells with us, but in us. It’s a reminder to hold fast to faith and truth, even when things do not go as planned.
