En este segmento de Proverbios con una Pentecostal, hablo de Proverbios 12:18: "Algunas personas hacen comentarios hirientes, pero las palabras del sabio traen alivio."

Habiendo experimentado el daño que puede hacer las palabras, he crecido siendo sensible a las palabras y su impacto. Este Proverbios señala las palabras de Jesús y cómo llevó el impacto de las palabras al extremo para enseñarnos la necesidad de ser conscientes de nosotros mismos y buenos administradores de nuestras palabras.

On this segment of Proverbs with a Pentecostal, I look at Proverbs 12:18: "Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing."

Having experienced the harm of words, I've grown up sensitive to words and their impact. This Proverbs points to Jesus' words and how He took the impact of words to the extreme to teach us the need to be self-aware and good stewards of our words.

En Éxodo 13:17, Dios toma una decisión interesante. Durante toda mi vida, pensé que Dios esperaba perfección de mí... pero aquí, encuentro un momento en el que Dios anticipó que Israel se volvería atrás si enfrentaban una batalla. Esto habla de la misericordia y comprensión de Dios hacia nosotros cuando caminamos bajo Su guianza. Cuando Él nos guía, nos protege.

Exodos 13:17 Cuando por fin el faraón dejó salir a los israelitas, Dios no los guio por el camino principal que atraviesa el territorio filisteo, aunque esa era la ruta más corta a la Tierra Prometida. There's an interesting decision God makes in Exodus 13:17. My whole life, I'd thought God expected perfection of me... but here, I find a moment where God anticipated Israel's turning back should they face battle. This speaks to God's mercy and understanding towards us as we walk under His leading. When He leads, we protects us.

Exodus 13:17 When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”

Este versículo del Salmo 3 me llamo la atención. En medio del caos y angustia, el rey David hace una pausa para reconocer un acto de fe a través de su descanso: "Me acosté y dormí, pero me desperté a salvo, porque el Señor me cuidaba." Salmo 3:5

Dios nos llama a caminar con Él, no a lograr más, hacer más cosas o ser más productivos. Nos llama a caminar con Él para que podamos experimentar el deleite y la confianza de descansar en Él.

Proverbs with a Pentecostal: Proverbs 12:15 Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.

This verse in Psalm 3 stopped me in my tracks. In the midst of chaos and turmoil, King David pauses to acknowledge an act of faith through his rest -- "I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me." Psalm 3:5

God calls us to walk with Him -- not to achieve more, do more things or be more productive. He calls us to walk with Him so that we may experience the delight and trust in resting in Him.
