  • How is Your Ground | Sean Finch | 4th October 2026
    2026/10/04

Today is Harvest Sunday which marks the end of the main harvest time; it’s a celebration for all Gods provision and a time of thankfulness and gratefulness. Ps Sean’s message looks at the parable of the sower in Mark 4:1-20 and is titled ‘How’s Your ground?’

Mark 4:3-9 (NKJV) “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Jesus spoke in terms everyone could understand, this time agricultural but often financial. Emphasis here was on listening to the Word of God. Ps Sean goes on to explain how some people listened, some did not or only for a short time and how this related to the different types of ground where seed was sown – Path, Rocky, Thorns & Good.

Ps Sean then explains how we can see if there is ‘good soil’ in our lives….

Good Soil Obeys - Matthew 7:24-25 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. The reason for this wasn't just hearing the word, it was doing the word. Good soil lives in obedience.

Good Soil Remains - John 8:31-32 “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Good soil does not leave or abandon God or His word, but hold’s on and stays connected.

Good Soil Bears Fruit - Mark 4:20 “But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” John 15:8 “By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples”. Does your life produce fruit in the areas you are living in?

PS Sean asks us …How is Your Ground?, is there evidence that the Word of God is growing in our lives?, Can people see Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness or Self Control in our workplaces, families, friendships, church, community or ministry?

The Parable of the Sower is seemingly well known to most of us, but this message gives us fresh challenges regarding its true meaning and what Jesus was really imparting about Kingdom living.

  • Be Ready | Paula Finch | 11th October 2026
    2026/10/11

In this gripping message Ps Paula starts by asking us if we can tell the difference between phrases/sayings which are in scripture and those which are not. In this age of social media it's very easy to believe a lie.

We must be careful what we allow to shape our thinking, our minds. Isaiah 40:8 says that the grass rivers, the flowers faint, but the word of our God will stand forever. Before we believe something because it sounds good or others are saying it we need to ask ourselves "Is it in the word of God?"

Ps Paula asks the cardinal question.. "Am I ready for the return of Jesus Christ?".... She refers to the parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) to illustrate her points as she goes on the speak about the importance of us being ready for Jesus. He certainly will come again, we just do no know exactly when.

She speaks about three key aspects...

    • We want to know Him
    • We want to live for Him
    • We want to love like Him

Ps Paula ends her message inviting the congregation to renew their faith in Jesus and dedicate their lives to Him.

  • We Value Gathering | Steuart Payne | 20th September 2026
    2026/09/20

This Sunday, we continued to look at “We Value Gathering." Pastor Steu shared a brilliant word on the house of God, and how we ought to value coming together, choosing joy, and serving faithfully in God's house.

Ps Steu spoke about the different elements of God's house, and how powerful it is that we get to worship our Father together, invite others in from the world to know our Father, and serve alongside each other as a family to make sure God's house reflects His excellent heart.

We want to encourage you to be committed to the house of God. For some of you, that may look like serving on a team in church, for others, it may mean coming with an attitude to build meaningful relationships with other people in church.

Whatever it looks like for you, we pray that God speaks to your heart about the importance of valuing gathering together, and we know that God's house becomes even more beautiful as we all play our part!

  • We Value Gathering | Carla Payne | 13th September 2026
    2026/09/13

This Sunday, we had a fantastic message from Pastor Carla as we began our new series exploring our church values.

We looked at the Value - “We Value Gathering."

There is something powerful about coming together. We weren’t created to do life alone, we need one another. When we gather, we encourage each other, worship together, grow in faith, share our stories, carry one another’s burdens, and make space for God to move among us.

Church isn’t just a building we come to; it’s a family we belong to. Whether you’ve been part of church for years or you’re just beginning to explore faith, there is a place for you.

So let’s keep choosing to gather, choosing community, and choosing to make being together a priority. You never know how your presence might encourage someone else, and you never know what God might do when we come together!

  • New Seasons | Sean Finch | 6th September 2026
    2026/09/06

Ps Sean speaks about New Seasons today. The message is shorter than normal as our service was focused on Kids Church year group transitions.

In Mark 1 v 16 and following, Jesus calls His first disciples, who were fishermen to follow Him. They immediately left what they were doing....attending to nets...and followed Him. A "New Season" was suddenly upon these men!

These kind of Seasons can do two things to us - they can shape us or make us, but Ps Sean paints a picture of when a ship is anchored correctly and a seasonal change comes, it doesn't move. So if the winds changed or waves blew up all of a sudden, this is a new season but the boat being anchored properly should not start to move. If it was not anchored it would drift where the wind blew it. Likewise with us, we don't want our church to be people that are just blown from left to right or torn by the feelings or emotions. We need our anchor in Him. If we are not in Christ, we will not have an anchor for our soul.

Ps Sean leaves us with three questions for the next season in our lives:

    • What are we or who are we trusting for this next season
    • Who am I following
    • Where am I heading

All of these questions are elucidated in the message but weneed to carefully examine the who, what, where and why of our lives.

  • Seeking and Inquiring of The Lord | Connie Samodu | Sunday 23rd August 2026
    2026/08/23

Ps Connie concentrates on the various stories associated with David's life in the Old Testament as she unwraps her message about seeking and enquiring of the Lord.

Saul went after David, chasing after him for himself in the wilderness, foreign lands at one point - the Philistines. But in spite of all this, David had a heart for God, he was a strong obedient man. David didnt lead a peferct life, but even after various mishaps he repented and inquired of God.

Maybe we have walked with God a while, but do we really enquire after Him, seek His face before we decide what to do? These are the things Connie discusses in this message.
