Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement…

“Faith without works is dead” can sound like a slogan until you ask a more personal question: if someone followed you around for a week, would they be able to see what you say you believe? We spend time in James 2:18-26 and talk about the kind of faith that becomes visible not through perfection, but through obedience, love, and everyday choices that line up with trust in Jesus Christ.

We also get practical by sharing a real story from 2009, graduating into a brutal job market, watching an MBA plan fall apart, and taking humble steps like freelance retail work. That season becomes a clear picture of what James is pressing: belief shows up in behavior. Determination is not a guarantee of outcomes, but it reveals what we truly trust.

From there, we bring it back to discipleship and the questions that challenge us most: Are we willing to follow God’s direction when it feels risky? What does love look like when people are difficult?

If you’ve been stuck in “someday,” let this be your nudge toward one faithful step today. Subscribe for weekly devotionals, share this with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review if it blesses you. What’s one action your faith needs right now?
