The hardest spiritual moments are often the quiet ones, when you still believe God is good but you cannot find a single sentence to pray. We go straight into that space with Dr. Patricia Shaw as she shares the turning point that changed her prayer life forever: the day her husband Michael died on November 8, 2025, after 36 years of love. The shock wasn’t the loss of faith, it was the loss of language, and that distinction matters for anyone walking through grief, widowhood, or a season of unanswered questions.
We talk about what prayer looks like when grief rewrites everything. Sometimes the only thing left is “Jesus,” sometimes it’s tears, sometimes it’s silence and breathing, and Romans 8:26 becomes a lifeline instead of a quote. We also name the questions many Christian women feel guilty for asking: Why did this happen, why now, what do I do with the future I planned, and who am I supposed to be now? Scripture makes room for lament, and we remind you that asking God a question is not the same as walking away from Him.
Along the way, we challenge the urge to “explain” suffering and offer something better: presence. We hold space for the days God feels far away, for the gap between what we know and what we feel, and for a faith that whispers and crawls when it cannot shout. We close with a guided prayer for the woman who cannot find words and a gentle nudge toward what’s next, because grief does not only cry, it can also get angry.
If this helped you breathe again, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s grieving, and leave a review so more women can find this support when they need it most.
