Can someone know the truth, speak the truth, and still fail as a leader?

Hophni and Phinehas openly corrupted Israel's worship. They stole from the Lord's offerings, abused their priestly authority, and exploited the very people they were called to shepherd (1 Samuel 2:12-17, 22). Eli knew exactly what was happening. He confronted them, yet left them in positions where the damage continued.
