    The Seminoles defeated New Mexico State 34-17 in the 2026 season opener, but the final score doesn't tell the entire story. FSU entered the night as a massive favorite and struggled to put away an Aggies team that won just four games last season.

    On this episode of Doak Talk, CJ breaks down an underwhelming Week 0 performance and asks the question nobody wanted to be asking after Game 1:

    Are we headed toward another season of struggles in Tallahassee?

    🏈 We discuss FSU's offensive performance, Ashton Daniels' debut, concerns in pass protection and the secondary, the bright spots from the running backs, and whether these were simply Week 0 growing pains—or warning signs of a much bigger problem.

    Ousmane Kromah was one of the biggest positives, rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown, while Samuel Singleton Jr. contributed both a rushing and receiving touchdown. But New Mexico State still produced 319 yards of offense, including 272 through the air, and remained competitive far longer than FSU would have wanted.
