  • Wholehearted Guideposts Part 1
    2026/09/01

In this episode we begin a brief series where we focus on Brene Brown's wholehearted guideposts. If you have been listening for awhile, you have likely noticed (or heard in the intro episode) that we generally use the guideposts as our check-in of what is hard right now and our check-out of what is keeping us wholehearted.

We discuss what the guideposts are, why we like them, and how we use them in therapy. Then we dive into Authenticity (the antidote to worrying about what people think) and Calm and Stillness (the antidote to anxiety as a lifestyle).

  • The Unknown
    2025/09/25

In this episode we explore The Unknown (tm)

What even is the unknown? What are examples of experiencing unknown in day to day life as well as big life events? How often are we afraid of the unknown versus afraid our experience will not meet our hopes or expectations?

We talk about all these questions as well as trusting faith and when it teeters into looking for control or certainty. Living from a place of love rather than fear. And the subtle difference in searching and openness.

Resources mentioned are "How We Live is How We Die" by Pema Chödrön, "The Universe Has your Back" By Gabby Bernstein, and "Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe" by Laura Lynne Jackson.

  • Relationships Part 3- Codependency
    2025/05/26

Join us as we focus on codependency in relationships part 3. Truly one of my (Chelsea's) favorite topics.

Resources include Melody Beattie's books such as "Codependent No More" and "The New Codependency".

  • Relationships Part 2
    2024/11/04

In relationships part 2 we focus on exploring a tool called the non-escalator relationship menu. Shared with us by a friend who first discovered the menu on reddit (thank you internet crowdsourcing!) This tool is awesome. Chelsea believes that if everyone filled this form out and walked around with and exchanged with others, we would get to the core of compatibility a lot faster. One of my requirements is hourly texting and you don't own a phone? Oh? Easy, we should NOT date." This sounds dry as I type it but truly, this tool is awesome. And we cover only three sub items on this episode so it becomes clear how much this menu can open up conversations for those interested in being in connection with someone else.

  • Relationships Part 1
    2024/10/07

It's the start of season three! Holy cow!

In this episode we stumble into a new ongoing series about relationships. Friendships, romantic relationships, family...all types of relationships will be included and can benefit from the ideas and tools we will be discussing.

In relationships part 1 we discuss the idea that relationships don't have to be hard (and how we somewhat disagree about this), the impact of issues of security (housing, finances, raising children) on relationships, loneliness and shame, and security v. freedom as ways people keep themselves safe and feel secure.

  • Therapy Myths
    2024/09/24

In this episode we explore a number of myths about therapy such as "you have to unpack your deepest shit" or "I have to give them all the background information". We also touch on things that listeners shared have been surprising to them about therapy. We hope this episode gives you some new insight into therapy and demystifies some of it.
