In episode 8 of More Than Yoga I have a conversation with the Plant Based MD, Dr. Judy Brangman, about how a plant-based diet can support our overall health and well-being.
Dr. Judy Brangman, MD, DipABLM, is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine physician. Dr. Judy obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at East Carolina University/Vidant Hospital. She holds a Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. Dr. Judy has been plant based for over 8 years. She is a frequently sought after speaker on plant based nutrition and lifestyle medicine and has spoken at conferences, churches, and community events. Dr. Judy is an active member of various professional organizations including the Plant Based Prevention of Disease Non-Profit, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and American College of Physicians.
For the past decade, Dr. Judy has worked in various roles including primary care, lifestyle medicine consultant, and as a hospitalist physician. Over the years, she has helped countless individuals lose weight, reverse type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. In 2023, Dr. Judy transitioned out of clinical medicine and is currently an Associate Medical Director for a utilization management program. Dr. Judy now offers life coaching where she helps Black, Christian, plant based women walk boldly in their purpose in spite of their past. Dr. Judy believes that the only things that matter in this life are knowing God intimately and walking boldly in your purpose. Everything else falls into place, once you have these two things. Dr. Judy is originally from Bermuda and currently resides in Raleigh, NC. Having discovered the freedom and joy that comes from knowing God intimately, following your calling, and walking in your purpose, Dr. Judy’s goal in this next season of her life is to show other Black Christian women how to do the same.
