 *Excuse Us* is a darkly humorous, post-apocalyptic radio play set in the quiet town of Joiceville, where something went wrong at the local diner. The series is told through the perspective of Catherine L. Dee, the only survivor, as she recounts the bizarre and traumatic events leading up to the disaster. Through quirky, fragmented episodes, Catherine unravels her story—introducing listeners to the diner’s eccentric staff and the eerie happenings that took place under the surface of everyday life.
Meanwhile, a shadowy corporation known as Blind Corp. looms over the narrative. Behind the scenes, two operatives from Blind Corp work to piece together the mystery of the zombie apocalypse that tore the town apart, questioning Catherine in an attempt to understand the horror that unfolded.
The series blends cosmic horror, dark comedy, and human drama, as it explores themes of survival, corporate overreach, and the madness beneath the surface of a seemingly peaceful town.

    There is a garden at the top of the mountain. Nothing that grows there ought to, and it is very good at helping you forget who rode up beside you. Inside, two strangers follow a woman who could not care less, close enough to keep her in sight and far enough to keep their secrets.

    Downstairs, in a cold room, a man holds a bowl he has carried for eleven years and finally hears what he has been praying to. Somewhere above them, a crown waits to be sold, and the people who want it most have started calling it something smaller. Some things you carry up the mountain. Some you hand to the wrong keeper for years. Tonight, a few people take theirs back. Told in two voices. Come in. The garden will hold your coat.

    Vera Osskind of the Hopetown Gazette came up Carbowee Mountain to cover an auction. Wealthy eccentrics, a hotel nobody will discuss on the record, a society piece with a little blood in the margins. She has sources in three kingdoms, an invitation she doesn’t remember earning, and a notebook that has never once lied to her. Then the tramway stops in the worst storm the cable has ever seen. A detective, a vizier, and a woman in emerald satin wake up arguing. An old surgeon lays out his instruments and says nothing at all. And Vera does what she always does. She writes it down. The trouble with the Mors Delectamenti Hotel is that it reads over your shoulder. And sooner or later, it starts writing back.

    You might have heard eight tapes. You have never heard this reel. In a room with no number at the top of the Mors Delectamenti Hotel, a captive knight sits across the table from a reel-to-reel recorder that talks back. It calls itself Lou Phillips. It used to work in radio. It has notes, and the first one is brutal: too sane, burn it, nobody climbs a mountain for sane. Side A takes you behind the first four tapes: the burned takes, the talk between takes, and the long, strange business of manufacturing a summons in a voice that isn't quite his own. There's a bartender who tells the same joke wrong on purpose, a Manager who hums a lullaby older than the building's ledgers, and an invitation on cream stock requesting the pleasure of his company. At brunch. Everything records. Whether it happened is a mixing decision. Side B picks up with Track Five.
