Your Light Bar Will Fail. Here's What Actually Passes TechIn this episode Mercedes Rally SLC 450; Chrissy has never raced at night, Chris did not fix the boat, but Mental did fix the 912 and Tim is paking up to drive across country….again. And if you show up at High Plains Raceway with a light bar on your roof, you are going to fail light tech. If you tape over the top of it, you are still going to fail. There is a light meter, there are measuring boards, and there is a hard 40-inch cutoff.Episode 450 is our full 24 Hours of Lemons High Plains Raceway preview — and this one is a true 24-hour race. Green flag at noon Saturday, checkers at noon Sunday, running straight through the night on a completely unlit track thirty minutes from the nearest anything. Ninety cars are entered. Chris, Chrissy and Tim are racing it. Mental is one of the four judges who will be holding the light meter. We cover the race car lighting rules in detail, the complete weekend schedule from Thursday gates to Sunday awards, the weather for Deer Trail, Colorado, night-driving technique for your first race in the dark, and our patented E1R Virtual Track Walk — every corner at High Plains, from three people who've raced it.New here? This 4,300 lb Chrysler Won Racing's Best Trophy

In this Ford big block stroker episode 449; Chrissy wrecks a riding mower (not on a race track though), Chris was chief judge and makes a bluping exhaust noise, Mental talks about Yoga, I mean Yugo, Tim tried to body build by moving a cast iron stove, and we have Julian on to talk about how the Pacific Raceway.

Fifty cars took the green at Pacific Raceways. Fewer than twenty were still running at the checker. And in two full days of racing, Chris — who was chief judge for the weekend — handed out exactly one severe penalty.

That never happens. Episode 449 is our full 24 Hours of Lemons Pacific Raceways race recap from both sides of the fence: Chris was judging it, and our guest was racing it.

Sometimes-Lemons-judge Julian Cordle brought his family, a 2005 Chrysler 300C, an inflatable polar bear, and fifty pounds of Alaskan reindeer sausage to Kent, Washington — and drove home with the Index of Effluency, the most coveted award in low-buck endurance racing. It's given to the team that has no business finishing and finishes anyway. His car weighs 4,300 pounds empty, runs all-wheel drive, and rides on three-year-old $83 tires.

    WHAT'S IN THIS EPISODE

Why episode 449 is a Ford FE big block — the engine that beat Ferrari at Le Mans, now available as a 449ci stroker

Bonneville got nine inches of rain the day the land speed car was ready. Nine.

Moving a 450-pound cast iron wood stove with winches, a 6x6, and one badly regretted lower back

A Tesla robotaxi in Austin quoted a 2.3-mile trip at 66 minutes — and another one ended its shift and put a four-time Tesla owner out three miles from home

A 1990 Yugo with 25 miles on it sold for $27,257, and the Petersen Automotive Museum was the underbidder

Arizona lawnmower racing: 80 mph, tethered kill switches, no blades, "How the West Was Mowed"

Heroic Fix: their Fiero blew a clutch, so they bought an entire Mustang that had been sitting in a field for seven years, chased live mice out of it, and raced it

Judge's Choice: a rookie dad, three kids, a 70hp Civic, a blown head gasket in cylinder three, and a YouTube video
