What could POSSIBLY go wrong? The correct answer is thus: Yes, we’ve learned a lot, whether we liked it or not. When we read chapters 1-20(plus author asides) we laid down the building blocks to which this story will get increasingly strange, morbid, violent, and strange AGAIN; I mean BOTH versions. Here’s the takeaway: You can’t trust the system (MAN). Part One AND Two are all about the context and exposition, which is important because characters come and go so fast within their own little narratives in Parts Three through Five (spoilers!). This is a world a lot like our own with events a lot like our own but something is different. Are we tapping into some else-worlds, alternative universe shit? Are we redoing history and changing some key moments to get us here? It’s almost like I have to do homework just to talk about it (I did) cause it’s a lot to keep track of!
