WNBA Awards Roundup, First-Round Playoff Recap, and Semifinals Preview (Double Dribble Ep. 3)

Sylvia and Madeleine recap WNBA league news and playoffs, lamenting both their teams were eliminated. They review regular-season awards: Coach of the Year Cheryl Reeve (40/74 votes), unanimous Rookie of the Year Olivia Miles, Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese (46 votes), Most Improved Jessica Shepard (29), and unanimous Sixth Player of the Year Janelle Salone. They mention the NBA retaining Excel Search and Advisory to find the next WNBA commissioner. First-round highlights include the 8-seed Liberty sweeping the 1-seed Lynx behind Breanna Stewart and strong defense on Miles; the Valkyries beating the Wings 2–1 (including Arike Ogunbowale’s 45-point record in Game 2) and earning their first series win; the Aces beating the Fever 2–1 with big games from A’ja Wilson and a Fever Game 2 win led by Caitlin Clark; and the Dream sweeping the Mystics. They preview Dream–Liberty and Valkyries–Aces semifinals and close with optimism about the Fever’s and Wings’ growth.
