We’re celebrating Canada Day by sharing this conversation with the man in charge of one of Canada’s top junior hockey leagues. Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, Dan Near ’99 talks about his unique and unexpected career path, from the National Hockey League to the WHL, and everything before and in-between. Dan gives us an evaluation of the opportunities and challenges ahead for the WHL and its member clubs, and even gets a surprise visit from a classmate, who asks Dan to reminisce about their time on the ice together, wearing the Saints red and white.
