ACSF Explained: The Framework Behind Every LLN Decision in Australia
How do Australian trainers and assessors identify learners' language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) needs?
In this episode of the RTO AI Academy Podcast, we explore the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and explain how it supports LLN assessment, training design and learner support in Australian vocational education and training.
The ACSF provides a common language for describing the core skills people need for learning, work and everyday life.
In this episode, you will learn:
- The five ACSF core skills: learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy.
- How the five levels of performance work.
- The four performance variables used to interpret skill demands.
- ACSF indicators, focus areas and domains of communication.
- How to interpret the ACSF skills and levels grid.
- How to identify learner support needs and map training requirements.
- Practical applications for trainers, assessors and RTOs.
This episode is particularly useful for TAE40122 learners, LLN practitioners, vocational trainers and assessors.
Always refer to the current ACSF and your RTO's approved LLN assessment and learner support procedures.
