On Easter Sunday 1992, three members of the Ewell family were found murdered inside their Fresno, California home. What initially appeared to be a shocking triple homicide would soon unravel into something far more calculated.

At the center of the investigation was 21-year-old Dana Ewell, the only immediate family member left alive and the beneficiary of his parents’ multimillion-dollar estate.

But Dana had an alibi. He wasn’t even in Fresno when his parents, Dale and Glee, and his 24-year-old sister, Tiffany, were killed.

So how could investigators connect him to the murders?
