a.k.a. My résumé finally explains itself

So I was talking to our developer about AI… and somehow ended up opening my résumé.

Bad idea. 😂

Twenty-plus years of work later... obviously, I’ve been a secretary, call center agent, market researcher, transcriptionist, writer, business owner, barangay councilor, project manager, podcast host, systems person, and whatever else looked interesting enough to become a side quest.

For years, I thought my career was just all over the place.

Then AI showed up.

And suddenly, all those random jobs started making a weird amount of sense.

That instinct you develop after doing something long enough to know when something is wrong before you can even explain why.

⌨️ What the Job Actually Taught Me

Transcription wasn’t only typing. Customer service wasn’t only answering calls. Every job left behind something that turned out to be useful later.

🤖 What AI Can Do vs. What Experience Brings

AI can write, code, transcribe, research, and automate a ridiculous amount of work. But context, judgment, timing, pattern recognition, and knowing when the machine is confidently wrong? That part gets interesting.

This episode is basically me realizing, in real time, that my very non-linear career may have been building a stack of skills all along.

Was it planned?

Absolutely not. Let’s not rewrite history. 😆

But maybe that’s the reassuring part. We don’t meet every new tool, career shift, or technological plot twist as beginners. We bring all the weird jobs, mistakes, difficult clients, side quests, and years of figuring things out with us.
