In this episode of Endure Prime, I sit down with JD Tremblay to talk about EpicDeca, ten Ironman-distance events in ten days across the Hawaiian Islands.
JD shares what it took to prepare for such an unusual challenge, how he managed the physical and mental demands from day to day, and why recovery, pacing and a strong foundation mattered so much. We also talk about the role of his crew, the importance of faith and purpose, and what happened when the event was over and ordinary life returned.
The conversation then comes back to the kind of training most runners can relate to: staying consistent, avoiding doing too much too soon, knowing when to push and when to back off, building fitness through easier training, and using strength, recovery, sleep and nutrition to support long-term progress.
JD also reflects on motivation, longevity and why the work that matters most is often the work that looks least impressive.
