On this episode Tom Bennett joins me again as we sit down and have a conversation about unity and brotherhood. Ourconversation starts off by discussing how various groups in the Restoration share common roots and core beliefs despite their differences, citing examples of growing fellowship for believers in the 1886 meeting. The conversation then shifted to explore what it means to be "of one heart and one mind" according to scripture, and how Zion-like unity requires love and friendship even among those with different doctrines rather than uniform beliefs. We then talked about practical reasons for fundamentalists to build cross-group relationships, including potential future needs and events. Finaly, we wrap it all up by talking about how friendship is a fundamental principle of Mormonism, using Joseph Smith's teachings and examples, and what each of us can do to helpfoster a better sense of unity among their families and communities.
