Episode 2: By Appointment of His Majesty
What is the Senate of Canada? How does it work? What can a newly appointed Senator (perhaps Melanie Taddeo?) expect when that person arrives on Parliament Hill.?
In this episode of Yes, Senator, co-hosts Melanie Taddeo and Steven Christianson take a deep dive into the process of Senate appointments and the functions of the Senate of Canada.
“It’s certainly not a 9-to-5 job,” Melanie and Steve point out. “You need to feel the joy of service, in serving others,” Melanie explains.
Melanie’s entire career has been dedicated to serving others, both in her role as the founder and CEO of a national disability charity in Canada, but also in producing and sharing this educational and informative podcast about the significance of democratic renewal through the public nomination feature of choosing our Senators.
If you liked this episode, consider liking and subscribing to Yes, Senator.
And if you agree that Melanie Taddeo would make a great Canadian Senator, please nominate her at the following link – it's totally free and only takes 4 minutes of your time.
