Forgiveness is one of the most misunderstood ideas in spiritual life.
The version many of us were taught goes like this: if you truly forgive, you move on, you don't bring it up, you restore the relationship to what it was before. And if you can't do all of that — you haven't really forgiven.
This episode offers a different understanding.
Because forgiveness is not about the other person. It is not absolution. It is not saying what happened was acceptable. It is not the same as trust — you can forgive completely and never trust again. And it is absolutely not a requirement to maintain a relationship with someone who has hurt you.
What forgiveness actually is — is the decision to stop letting someone live rent-free in your nervous system. It is an act of self-liberation. And it is available to you right now, entirely on your own, without the other person doing anything at all.
Seven minutes. Put it down. Let's begin.
