Happy Thursday, ganggg! Ya Favorite Cousins are here with a HEFTY episode, lol! Bri kicks things off with an update on her mental health journey, opening up about the process of recieving an official diagnosis and also taking medication for the first time! The girls also weigh in on the age-old bonnet debate sparked by Tuskegee University's recent prohibition of bonnets and du-rags on campus. The conversation quickly turns into a deeper discussion about respectability politics and the expectations placed on Black people by other Black people. Whether its wearing certain headwear in public, saying the N word, or cussing in general, where do we draw the line between respectability and black liberation? They also get into beautymaxxing, feminity, reminisce on moments when they felt unpretty and why beauty is top priority for them as grown women. This is a juicy one yall ngl.
Get cozy and tune in to Ya Favorite Cousins. Thanks for all the support! We luv y’all deeeeeep ❤️
