Did God set humanity up to fail?
At first glance, it can seem that way. A forbidden tree sits at the center of the Garden, and a crafty serpent appears determined to lead humanity into disobedience. But was the tree really a setup for failure—or was it an opportunity to learn trust?
In this episode, we explore why the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Bad was necessary, how the pattern of seeing, desiring, and taking echoes throughout Scripture, and why humanity’s greatest problem isn’t simply breaking God’s rules, but defining good and evil on our own terms.
Finally, we’ll see how Jesus succeeds where humanity failed, refusing to seize what was rightfully His and opening the way back to the life we were created to receive.
