Stay: A Conversation About Suicide Prevention
This episode is a little heavier, but it’s a conversation that matters.
In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, we’re talking openly about suicide, mental health, recognizing when someone may be struggling, and what it really means to check on the people around us. We discuss warning signs, how to start an uncomfortable conversation, what to do when someone tells you they’re not okay, and why checking in shouldn’t stop after the immediate crisis has passed.
And if you’re the one struggling, this episode is for you too.
You don’t have to figure out your whole life today. You don’t have to have the perfect words to ask for help.
Stay for tonight. Stay for tomorrow. Stay long enough to let someone in. Your story isn’t finished yet.
Content Warning: This episode contains discussions of suicide, suicidal thoughts, and mental health struggles.
If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis in the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
