What if having fun is more than entertainment? What if it helps people feel safe?
Kendal Torres is the founder of Comeback Kid Society, an organization serving teenagers in detention centers, treatment centers and foster-care group homes. Her team enters some incredibly serious environments carrying snacks, laughter, celebration and the unwavering belief that every young person has greatness inside them.
In this conversation, Kendal and Greg explore how intentional fun can move people from survival toward connection, creativity and trust. Kendal also shares what she has learned about pursuing a calling, releasing the need to carry everyone else’s problems, and creating environments where people are free to be people.
You’ll hear why adults may be pretending to be more serious than they really are, how sharing what delights you can thicken trust, and why the most magnetic person in the room is often the one who makes everyone else feel worth celebrating.
Kendal’s challenge is wonderfully simple: Walk into the room ready to celebrate everybody.
