This is part 2 of our interview with Tylesha Allen, the author of the book, Color Isn't Who I Am. In this episode, Tylesha shared how she overcame her struggles as a behavior interventionist for children with special needs and the important things that carers and practitioners should experience to be happy in their work as carers and practitioners of special needs. She also shared how she overcame the effect of being sexually abused as a child.
WHO is Tylesha Allen?
Tylesha “Tye” Allen was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Psychology. Tylesha considers God and family a top priority. Tylesha is the author of the children’s book Color Isn’t Who I AM. She’s a loving mother, poet, Navy Veteran, former federal correctional officer, former behavioral interventionist for people on the spectrum, compassionate volunteer for underprivileged communities throughout SoCal, and an advocate for helping individuals to recognize their potential and achieve excellence. After decades of struggling with impostor syndrome, Tylesha took a leap of faith to pursue more meaningful endeavors to fulfill her God-driven purpose of helping those in need. Her mission: To impact and inspire others through a lifestyle of leading by example.
