Join legendary coach Mark Gottfried and former UCLA point guard Tyus Edney on The Coach Mark Gottfried Show for an emotional, in-depth look back at one of the most famous plays in NCAA Tournament history. Mark coached Tyus as an assistant on the 1995 UCLA team, and the two relive the legendary 4.8-second, length-of-the-court shot that beat Missouri and kept their championship run alive. Tyus opens up about what was actually going through his mind in that huddle, why his first instinct was to pass up the moment, and what Mark told him on the way back onto the floor that changed everything. They go deep into that entire 1995 season: the depth of talent on that roster, the locker room mentality heading into the UConn game, the shot Tyus hit right before halftime that he still can't believe he celebrated, and what it actually felt like to bring a national championship banner back to UCLA for the first time in 20 years. Plus, Tyus reflects on what it's been like to carry one of the most replayed shots in tournament history for thirty years, his journey through the NBA and overseas basketball, and what he's focused on today. A must-watch for any college basketball fan who remembers where they were when that shot went in. Subscribe for more episodes!
