Modern youth soccer often prioritizes raw athleticism over tactical intelligence, creating robotic players who struggle under pressure. Ozark United FC Managing Director Wes Harris sits down with new Academy Director Henri Erti to break down how implementing the Barcelona methodology changes youth player development in Northwest Arkansas.

Transitioning away from mechanical drills requires a shift toward game-based training and environmental awareness. Henri shares his journey through world-class European football systems, detailing how teaching players to manipulate time and space creates smarter athletes. The conversation tackles parent involvement, sideline behavior, and the critical importance of letting kids develop decision-making skills through unorganized play.

This episode provides club directors, coaches, and soccer parents a blueprint for fostering long-term player development without sacrificing the joy of the game.
