In this episode we’re going to examine immigration concerns using long held Christian beliefs. Today, many people struggle with what and who they should believe about immigration and other important issues. Many don’t know what they should do, and more importantly, what the right thing to do is. This is especially true when we hear news coverage of immigration protests in Minnesota and see people being detained by ICE, which prompt emotional, rather than intellectual responses. In this episode we’ll take a look at what Catholic Social Teaching tells us about these problems, what Catholic believe and why they believe them. It’s important to understand that our approach will not be political, but religious; based on Sacred Scripture contained in the Bible. We’ll also take a look at how Saint Francis viewed the world because some of his perspective provides a unique Biblical interpretation and can help us recognize the right thing to do.
