Tune in here to this Monday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show!
Brett kicks off the program by talking about election anxiety and the importance of staying engaged without becoming overwhelmed. As Election Day approaches, Brett encourages listeners to vote, volunteer, organize, talk with their neighbors, and pay attention to issues affecting their communities. However, he warns against allowing political coverage, polls, headlines, and election maps to consume their lives or create unnecessary panic. Brett emphasizes that elections are important because they can influence laws, budgets, schools, healthcare, housing, and everyday life, but one election does not determine the future of the country.
We're joined by Brett Jensen to talk about the FBI and DOJ investigation into Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and possible financial irregularities. Jensen explains that the investigation follows previous inquiries by the North Carolina State Auditor’s Office, the SBI, and the State Board of Education. He reports that the federal investigation involves possible financial irregularities concerning CMS administration and school board members, with at least three individuals reportedly interviewed by the FBI. Jensen also discusses how investigators may be examining financial activity dating back to 2021, when COVID relief money began flowing to schools
