Edwin Mullane (WaveWalker Films, co-director/producer) and Jed Murray (Jer Canavan) join Dreaming The New Dream to share their moments making the award-winning Irish feature Horseshoe.

Co-directed by Edwin Mullane and Adam O’Keeffe, Horseshoe follows four estranged siblings who return to the crumbling family home in the west of Ireland after their father’s death. Inheritance, grief, long-buried grudges and secrets collide as the Canavans decide whether the family still exists.Edwin talks about the leap from theatre and shorts to a first feature, the 15-day Sligo shoot, community support, and building WaveWalker Films. Jed shares the actor’s side — playing one of the brothers, working with the ensemble (Carolyn Bracken, Lalor Roddy, John Connors, Mary Murray, Neill Fleming, Eric O’Brien and others), and what it felt like bringing this raw, funny, painful Irish family story to the screen.

From Galway Film Fleadh (Best Irish First Feature) to IFTA nominations and the North American release, this is a conversation about collaboration, independent Irish cinema, and the moments that stay with you after the cameras stop.
