He speeds up, and it maintains the exact same distance. When he finally pulls over, the truck stops too. The driver's door opens. The man who steps out is wearing the same clothes as him. In another story, a woman rents a cabin in the woods for a weekend away. On the first night, she hears three knocks on the front door. When she checks the peephole, the hallway is empty. She goes back to bed. The knocks continue, now coming from the back door, then the windows, then the roof, circling the cabin in a slow, deliberate pattern. She never opens the door. She never sees who was knocking. And in the morning, she finds footprints in the snow—circling the cabin, stopping at every window, and ending at the front door.
