Euro-dollar closed at 1.1221, down 0.09% on the day and up 0.19% over the last five sessions. Cable finished at 1.3332, up 0.01% on the day and 0.58% over five sessions. Dollar-yen ended at 158.21, up 0.06% on the day and down 0.06% over five sessions. 📉💷 Cable stood out by pressing furthest toward the top of its five-session range, running from 1.3137 to 1.3372 while still sitting below both the 50-day and 200-day averages at 1.34. That left the pound’s recent advance looking strongest, but not yet decisive. For cable, 1.3372 is the key level, and price is below it. Tuesday brings the UK labour-market release, Wednesday, October 21, at 7:00 London time, brings UK consumer price inflation for September, and Friday brings UK retail sales for September.
