Our guest is Charlie Hamilton James, a world-renowned photographer, National Geographic Explorer, and wildlife filmmaker whose work masterfully fuses raw emotion with technical complexity to tell deeply evocative stories.

Beginning his career at just sixteen on David Attenborough’s iconic BBC series Trials of Life, Charlie went on to become one of the industry's most influential visual storytellers. He has directed and hosted numerous award-winning documentaries—including My Halcyon River (voted one of the top ten wildlife films of all time), I Bought A Rainforest, and most recently, the feature documentary Billy and Molly for Disney and National Geographic. As a photojournalist, he has shot thirteen stories for National Geographic Magazine, earning the prestigious National Geographic Photographer’s Photographer Award in 2022.

In this episode, we dive into Charlie’s legendary career and his work documenting the delicate line between humans and the natural world.
