What does it look like when someone refuses to quit on something they barely understand yet? Gio "F1" Douyon walked onto a rugby pitch at Georgia State not knowing the rules, got handed a position he wasn't entirely sure on, and then scored a 100-meter try the moment a coach finally put him where he belonged.

From playing with the elite rugby teams around the world to helping build Atlanta Old White into a back-to-back national championship program (..2...3!), Gio's journey is a masterclass in staying the course when the path isn't obvious yet.

Beyond the rugby pitch, Gio opens up about his training business, Above the Hype Performance, and why he believes every athlete deserves access to the kind of coaching that actually develops the whole person, not just the sport. He and Sumo also dig into one of the most underrated forces in adult life: the power of a community that shows up for you before you've even earned it.

If Gio's story resonated with you, you'll find even more in the full conversation - the kind of honesty about setbacks and rebuilding that doesn't usually make the highlight reel. Give it a listen and share it with someone who's navigating their own unexpected pivot right now.
