Join us on Episode 50 of the Pastor | Scholar Podcast as we sit down with Scott Bashoor, Associate Professor of Old Testament at the Virginia Beach Theological Seminary, to discuss biblical scholarship, the pastor’s responsibility to handle God’s Word carefully, and the holy longing at the heart of Psalm 84. Why did the psalmist deeply desire to be among God’s people, and what might our own desire for the church reveal about us? As Scripture declares, “My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD” (Psalm 84:2), this conversation challenges us to consider whether that same longing characterizes the church today.

ABOUT PASTOR | SCHOLAR

We bring together the local church and Christian academia to discuss Scripture, theology, and questions that matter to the Christian life. Through conversations grounded in a historical, grammatical, literal, and dispensational approach to Scripture, we seek to help pastors, students, and everyday Christians better understand God's Word and faithfully apply it to their lives.
