What happens when healing itself quietly becomes another way of leaving ourselves?
In this episode of The Healing You Method, my co-host Gail Donohue and I explore the subtle line between healing that brings us home to ourselves and healing that becomes another form of striving, performing, or trying to prove that we are finally enough.
We talk about the difference between approaching ourselves with curiosity and treating ourselves as an ongoing improvement project. We also explore the old message many of us carry—that we must fix ourselves before we can belong—and how practices such as journaling, meditating, or seeking support can either deepen our relationship with ourselves or pull us further away.
Together, we consider what healthy support feels like in the body, how we begin to give away our authority, and why discomfort is not always something to push through. Sometimes, it is meaningful information asking to be heard.
This conversation is an invitation to let healing become a relationship with yourself—not another standard you must meet.
If this episode supported you, share it with someone who may be ready to trust herself again.
