Your money tells the truth about your heart. In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus draws a clear line between earthly treasure and heavenly treasure, reminding us that what we do with our money reveals what we actually trust and worship. Earthly wealth is fragile, making promises it cannot keep, while kingdom treasure is eternal and secure. The way we see money reflects our spiritual perspective, whether we view ourselves as owners or stewards, and whether our confidence rests in our bank account or in God. Jesus makes it plain that no one can serve both God and money. One will always win. Generosity is not about losing what we have. It is about relocating our treasure to a kingdom that will never end.

It is possible to do all the right things and still miss the heart of God entirely. Giving, praying, and serving can quietly become performances aimed at earning the admiration of others rather than honoring the Father.

Jesus warns in Matthew 6 that those who seek the crowd's applause receive exactly what they were looking for, and nothing more. Ever since Genesis 3, human beings have been searching for approval, acceptance, and significance in places other than God. The good news of the Gospel is that the approval we desperately chase has already been freely given through Jesus Christ.

Because we have the Father's acceptance through faith, we are finally free to stop performing for everyone else. The goal is not secrecy for its own sake but retraining our hearts to live before the Father rather than the crowd.

Loving others is easy when they are kind, supportive, and easy to be around. But Jesus calls His followers to something far more demanding: loving even those who have hurt, opposed, or wronged them.
