Jesus taught his disciples to show radical humility and selfless love to one another. Since Jesus humbled himself and died for sinners, we must follow his example of service and obey his command to love sacrificially.

The words of the wise result in a life that is upright, well-ordered, and well-invested. Since the world suffers corruption and the ongoing pressure of decay, we must listen to the words of the wise to live a life of wholeness and godly pleasure.

The wicked have no hope of a future, while the righteous are blessed now and in eternity. Since God will bring all men into judgment, we must pursue the wisdom that leads to righteousness and avoid sinful folly which brings only destruction.

A wise son follows his father’s example of moral purity and mature faith. Since God has given us earthly fathers to guide us in wisdom and right living, we must listen and submit ourselves, opening our hearts to receive and hold onto the truth.

God’s wisdom leads us to reject foolish strategies for gainingwealth and influence. Since wisdom is founded upon trust in the Lord and his word, we must trust him to reward uprightness and integrity and reject foolish associations and ways of seeking riches.

Jesus’ disciples are to live in peace with one another. Since jockeying for position, intolerance of outsiders, and sin in our own hearts destroy peace in the body of Christ, we must rid ourselves of these and pursue peace with one another.

The church is identified as the flock of God with Jesus being called the Chief Shepherd. He has appointed undershepherds to serve his flock.

God, the Maker of both rich and poor, blesses those who care for the poor and oppressed. Since the Lord condemns injustice and rewards those who minister to the poor, we must examine our own lives to ensure we do not do wrong and seek opportunities to care for others.
