What happens when a person who has spent decades optimizing their health, practicing mindfulness, and pushing themselves to perform suddenly collapses? In this episode, I’m joined by Lane Kennedy, a mindfulness teacher and DNA functional nutritionist, to talk about her experience with dysautonomia and the long road back to health. We explore the idea of recovery capacity, why rest is more than sleep, how layered stress can overwhelm the body, and practical ways to support nervous system regulation. We also discuss sleep, technology, exercise, peptides, and why learning to listen to your body may be one of the most important health skills you can develop.
Meet Today’s Guest:Lane Kennedy is a mindfulness teacher for the City of San Francisco and a DNA functional nutritionist who helps people better understand how their genetic blueprint can influence stress response, energy, and healing capacity. Her work combines functional nutrition, applied neuroscience, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation. After experiencing a collapse that led to dysautonomia and a long recovery, Lane now brings both professional expertise and lived experience to conversations about resilience, burnout, and recovery. She is also the author of Sobriety for Dummies and creator of Sober in San Francisco.
