दुनिया की सबसे अनोखी रामलीला: रामनगर

रामलीला सारे भारत में हर जगह एक ही मंच पर होती है लेकिन बनारस के पास रामनगर में काशी नरेश के शहर में इसका एक ऐसा रूप दिखाई देता है जिसका जोड़ दुनिया में दूसरा नहीं है। पूरा शहर एक स्टेज में बदल जाता है। यहाँ तमाम ऐसे पक्के स्टेज हैं जो बरसों से बने हुए हैं। इसके बावजूद रामलीला मोहल्लों-मोहल्लों घूमते हुए 31 दिन का सफर तय करती है। ये एक ऐसा उत्सव है जहाँ अभिनेता और दर्शक एक हो जाते हैं। जहाँ अभिनय करने वालों और उसे देखने वालों का पीढ़ियों लम्बा साथ होता है।

Caught in a time Warp: Ramnagar

Ramlilas have evolved over the years but there is a place where it's still performed the way people saw it 70 years ago. Ramnagar, a place close to Varanasi, organises Ramlila that has no parallel. Under the guidance of Kashi King, the Ram Lila moves from one neighbourhood to the other on a 31 day journey and is performed on stages that are built permanently for the purpose. It's here that the performers and the viewers are tied to each other by the generations long bonds.
