Duke football is firing on all cylinders, starting the season 2-0 with wins over Tulane and Illinois, showcasing a balanced offense and a rising defense. Coach Manny Diaz’s confidence is palpable as they gear up for their first conference clash against Stanford. The offense thrives by leveraging tight ends—Jeremiah Hasley, Nate Kurisky, and Jake Taylor—all playing pivotal roles, especially in run-blocking to keep defenses off-balance. On defense, transfer cornerbacks Kyon Loud and Dylan Flowers are stepping into starting roles, while Evan Smith shines at nickel with an interception. The coaching staff’s trust in these newcomers has reshaped the defensive lineup, sidelining expected starters like Landan Callahan and Kimari Robinson. This blend of veteran grit and fresh talent is building momentum—and Duke looks poised to make serious noise this season.
