Dragon Ball Super Dope is a Dragon Ball podcast covering Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Daima, Dragon Ball GT, the movies, the manga, and every chaotic corner of the Toriyama multiverse. Hosted by me, Kyle, the show blends analysis with unfiltered humor as we break down new episodes, revisit classic arcs, explore power scaling, rank the best fights, and react to every major Dragon Ball announcement. While Dragon Ball is the heart of the show, we also dive into other fandoms we love — including Marvel movies, MCU chaos, and the latest episodes of My Hero Academia and other anime that cross our radar. If you're into Goku and Deku, Vegeta and Bakugo, or just want a place where Dragon Ball fans occasionally yell about superheroes, you're in the right spot. If you're looking for a Dragon Ball Super podcast, a Dragon Ball Z review show, Daima reactions, MHA breakdowns, Marvel talk, or a place to geek out with a community that doesn't take itself too seriously, welcome home. We dig into transformations, timelines, lore, and the wildest fan theories — with plenty of jokes and fan-chaos along the way. • Dragon Ball Super Returns... But Is It the Return Fans Actually Wanted?
    2026/07/19

Brandon is back! One of the original members of the Super Dope Trio returns to the show as Kyle and Brandon kick off a new series revisiting Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods ahead of the long-awaited return of the Dragon Ball Super anime.

With Dragon Ball Super officially set to return (starting with a brand-new retelling of the Beerus saga), the guys discuss the biggest questions surrounding the relaunch. Why revisit Battle of Gods and Resurrection F for a fourth time? Will Toei finally create a definitive version of the story? And what happens to all of the anime-only moments fans have come to love?

Along the way, they dive into Beerus' introduction as one of Dragon Ball's most unique antagonists, Vegeta's unforgettable Bingo Dance, Goku's first encounter with Super Saiyan God, the differences between the movie, anime, and manga versions of Battle of Gods, and why Dragon Ball still struggles with the idea of a single "canon."

The conversation also branches into Dragon Ball Daima, the Moro (Galactic Patrol Prisoner) Arc, Tournament of Power, Future Trunks, Goku Black, the future of Dragon Ball Super, and whether Toei is making the right decision by rebooting the anime instead of jumping directly into new material.

If you've been wondering what Dragon Ball Super's return means for longtime fans, this episode is the perfect place to jump back in.

    In This Episode
    • Brandon returns to Dragon Ball Super Dope
    • The official return of the Dragon Ball Super anime
    • Why Toei is retelling Battle of Gods and Resurrection F

    • Dragon Ball Daima and where it fits in the timeline
    • Canon confusion: Is everything officially canon now?
    • The Moro Arc and Galactic Patrol storyline discussion

  • Chozetsu Dynamic! Dragon Ball Super Opening 1 - Dragon Ball Opening Songs Series
    2026/07/05

In this episode of Dragon Ball Super Dope, we're celebrating the 11th anniversary of Dragon Ball Super by taking a deep dive into its first opening theme, Chozetsu Dynamic. From the song's creation and recording process to its English localization, lyrical themes, and unforgettable debut alongside the return of the Dragon Ball franchise in 2015, we explore why this opening became one of the defining pieces of music in modern anime. We also compare it to legendary Dragon Ball themes like Makafushigi Adventure!, CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA, We Gotta Power, and Limit-Break x Survivor, discussing where Chozetsu Dynamic fits among the greatest Dragon Ball opening songs of all time.

Beyond the opening theme itself, we examine how Chozetsu Dynamic was adapted throughout the Dragon Ball Super soundtrack, breaking down its various orchestral, piano, and string arrangements used during the anime. Kyle also shares his thoughts on the evolution of Dragon Ball Super's background score, the series' early production challenges, and why the music became stronger as the anime progressed. Along the way, he revisits his own acoustic cover of Chozetsu Dynamic, reflects on the early years of the podcast, and shares plenty of nostalgia for one of the most exciting eras in Dragon Ball history. Whether you're a longtime Dragon Ball fan, an anime music enthusiast, or simply love discussing the franchise's iconic opening songs, this episode is packed with analysis, history, and appreciation for one of Dragon Ball Super's most recognizable themes.

  • Dragon Ball Super Is FINALLY Back — Galactic Patrol, Beerus AGAIN?! & The Future of Dragon Ball
    2026/01/29

After nearly eight years of waiting, Dragon Ball Super is officially coming back — and the announcements out of Japan have the fandom split right down the middle.

In this episode of Dragon Ball Super Dope, I break down everything revealed at the Genki Dai Matsuri event, including the long-rumored return of the anime with Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol, a brand-new Dragon Ball Super: Beerus remake, and a mysterious new Dragon Ball video game that claims deep ties to Akira Toriyama's legacy.

We start with the big one: Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol, which all but confirms the long-awaited Moro arc will finally be animated. While there's no release date yet, this announcement officially ends years of speculation — Super is back, and it's moving forward instead of being rebooted or remastered into oblivion.

Then comes the curveball. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is slated for late 2026 and appears to be a high-budget, six-episode re-telling of Battle of Gods. The animation quality looks incredible… but do we really need to see Beerus arrive on Earth for the fourth time? I dig into why this feels frustrating, what it could mean for a full "Dragon Ball Super Kai" style remake, and whether redoing Super with manga-accurate storytelling might actually be worth it.

Finally, we talk games. Dragon Ball Project / Age 1000 introduces a new original character (Kino?) and claims heavy involvement from Akira Toriyama — which raises some uncomfortable questions about transparency, legacy marketing, and how Dragon Ball moves forward creatively. Is this Xenoverse 3, a Dragon Ball Online revival, or something else entirely?

Along the way, I get personal about what Dragon Ball Super Dope has meant to me, how the Tournament of Power era shaped this podcast, and why seasonal Dragon Ball might actually be the best possible future for the franchise.

If you've been waiting for Moro, Granolah, Gas, and Black Frieza to finally hit the screen — this episode is for you.
