I’ve had to deal with the accusation that the Gnostics and Cathars never existed for years. So why not move on to the Essenes and Therapeutae? Dr. Ray Taylor joins me for this exploration, tapping into sound scholarship and his Zeroist method. We’ll go beyond these monastic sects and find the true mystic movements that predate and shaped Christianity, Islam, and rabbinic Judaism. All roads lead to Simon Magus, as I’ve always said, and we’ll take detours into the Mandaeans, John the Baptist, and the river tradition that made the Watchers shake in their cloudy boots. It’s all fun and games until someone loses a third eye, and then it’s just Gnosis.
