Dr Liz X Sapphia Cousins
This second episode of the new podcast by Dr Liz Murray features special guest Sapphia Cousins. Sapphia is an incredible 'Endo warrior' and advocate, trying to raise awareness of the condition and campaign for better support for women with endometriosis. Sapphia shares her story and how being repeatedly dismissed with her endometriosis symptoms left her frighteningly close to having a bowel perforation had she not followed her own instincts and sought a second opinion. Sapphia's endo was so advanced that by the time she had surgery she ended up in ITU and needing a temporary stoma. Her incredible journey shows her resilience and fierce attitude and determination not to let the condition take away her strength and joy for life.
Together the conversation covers the things we wish we'd known when younger, some funny stories and some reliable advice on navigating the journey of getting an endometriosis diagnosis.
