On July 21st, 2020 when Dustin Chandler was found deceased on the side of the road in front of an address in Beverly Hills, Florida, his slide shoes were about 10 feet from where he lay, and his cell phone was ringing beside him.

The previous night he’d gone out with his mother and her friend Vickie, the friend’s roommate, and met a man named Eric Streid.

Later that night, they all ended up at Vickie’s house, hanging out and talking outside by the pool. Eric Streid’s mood changed at some point, and Dustin Chandler took Vickie’s truck to give him a ride home.

    Dustin Chandler never returned.

This is a short, one-episode season, but it’s an important one, because I don’t believe justice was done in this case.

If you have any information about the death of Dustin Chandler, you can contact the Citrus County Sheriff’s office at (352) 726-4488 or (352) 249-2790.

    2026/07/04

On March 8, 1957, prominent citrus farmer and grocery store owner Gettis Lee, 63, and his wife Merrill Lee, 60, mysteriously disappeared from their home in the rural town of Parrish, Florida. The next morning, Merrill's body was discovered face-down in a roadside ditch, having been beaten and shot four times. However, Gettis's fate remained a mystery for six years until 1963, when his skeletonized remains were uncovered in nearby brush with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigated by local authorities and the FBI, the brutal double homicide shook the small community and generated intense rumors ranging from ties to regional "bolita" gambling syndicates to marital discord. Today, despite thousands of pages of archival records maintained by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the case remains the oldest unsolved murder in the county's history.
