  • From Addiction And Codependency To Healing Through Identity In Christ
    2026/06/24

Let me know what you think of this episode?

A lot of people can look “fine” in church while their home life is falling apart. We sit down with Steve Rotermund, author and founder of Walk Right Ministries, to talk honestly about addiction, codependency, trauma, and the long road from shame to healing. Steve shares the surprising way he met his future wife, then opens up about childhood abandonment, abuse, and how those early wounds quietly shaped his relationships and view of God.

As his first marriage was consumed by prescription drug addiction, Steve describes what many spouses of addicts feel but rarely say out loud: the exhausting need to fix, manage, rescue, and control. A Christian counselor stops him cold with one sentence, “You’re part of the problem,” and it becomes the beginning of codependency recovery. We break down what codependency really looks like, why “being the savior” keeps families stuck, and how boundaries and responsibility can become an act of love rather than rejection.

The heart of the conversation is identity in Christ, not as a slogan, but as a lived reality that replaces “I’m not good enough” with sonship, security, and transformation. Steve explains how forgiving himself changed everything, why Christianity is more than weekly attendance, and how healing impacts parenting and generational patterns. We also talk about his book, God’s Imperfect Plan Is Perfect, and the online Walk Right Community built to support spouses and partners navigating addiction, fear, and hard decisions.

If you’re looking for Christian counseling insights, faith-based addiction recovery support, and practical help for codependency and trauma healing, this one is for you. Subscribe, share with someone who needs hope, and leave a review so more people can find the path to freedom.

  • Worship As A Lifestyle with Brigitte Donoho
    2026/06/17

Let me know what you think of this episode?

Worship can sound loud on a stage and still be quiet in a kitchen sink full of dishes. We talk with Brigitte Donoho, a worship leader, homeschool mom, and recording artist, about the moment worship stops being only lyrics and becomes a lifestyle shaped by gratitude, character, and everyday choices.

Her story is rooted in real life: raising two boys, juggling family schedules with ministry travel, and learning the hard wisdom of boundaries. We get honest about what it takes to steward a calling when you’re tempted to say yes to everything, and why “faithful stewardship” sometimes looks like a bold no. If you’re a worship leader, a Christian songwriter, or just someone trying to keep your heart soft in a heavy season, you’ll hear practical language you can actually use.

We also go deep on songwriting that tells the truth. Brigitte shares how hardship and grief have shaped her music, including walking through her son’s early speech disorder and the loss of her father, which led to songs on her “Carry You” EP. We explore how to write honestly about pain without losing hope, why scripture is a well of lyrics, and why Christian music can be diverse, from worship to rock to folk, without abandoning a consecrated life.

If this conversation encourages you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find it. What part of your “ordinary Tuesday” could become worship today?

  • Stop Beating Yourself Up God Already Did It
    2026/06/10

Let me know what you think of this episode?

Identity talk is everywhere, but most of it still leaves people anxious, exhausted, and unsure of who they really are. We sit down with author Tom Anderson to get underneath the slogans and into the deeper question: what if identity is your default system, the background story running your life when nobody is watching?

Tom shares a grace-filled approach to Christian identity rooted in sonship, not self-effort. We unpack the three soul needs every person carries: to be valued and loved, to be significant, and to feel safe. From Jude’s language of being loved, called, and kept, we explore what it looks like to let God’s view of you become more real than your inner critic, your past, or your performance. Along the way, Tom explains “kinship to sonship” and why the doing-driven version of faith can quietly burn people out.

We also dig into big gospel themes with practical weight: Adam’s story and the four relationships that rupture in the fall, why “It is finished” means far more than forgiveness alone, and how confession can become a doorway into truth instead of a loop of shame. If you care about spiritual formation, grace, redemption, and healing your sense of self before God, this conversation gives language and next steps you can actually live.

Subscribe for more conversations like this, share the episode with a friend who’s wrestling with identity, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
