    LETHAL AND MULLY LIVE

... There are times when the news actually isn't news. Well, at least reported events of opinions that really don't amount to much. But the fact that someone took the time and effort to write it up to fill a newspaper - or media outlet makes it fair game. Certainly not to take any of it too seriously. If there is white noise, then most likely there is also white print. So, Lethal and Mully delved right into the hot topics printed up large in the weekend paper to see if any good could be extracted. Or if they themselves could add some white noise of their own from the white print. And why not? The professional writers can't have all the fun.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS? -

... It's a good question for who doesn't want success? But what exactly is success? It certainly means different things to different people. It's quite common, in Australia, to define success by being lucky or smart enough to amass a good deal of money. Often you will hear, "Oh he, or she, has been very successful in life due to having made a lot of money," But is that description of success adequate, shallow or missing a much broader criterion? Keith think so, citing that for him success means having healthy relationships, being free from domineering appetites and crippling debt. Lee breaks it down even more.

YOUR BIGGEST REGRET - A BAD TATTOO OR AN EX-PARTNER? -

... Keith was wondering which would be the biggest regret, either a bad tattoo or an ex-partner. Lee was just wondering about regrets in general. Still, they chatted away meandering in and out of their various views while enjoying a few laughs along the way. When it comes to ex-partners or bad tattoos quite often some secrets can tumble out. Lee did let slip a few little ones but Keith was quite guarded. Lee, being the positive guy that he is, had some good advice on regrets, which he sees as a waste of time. As always, another lively chat from the boys, which is refreshing in these times when so many are talking about the big issues. Just two good friends talking about life as it comes to them - the Aussie and the Pom.

    IS SILENCE GOLDEN? -

... It has be said many times that silence is golden - indeed quite a few songs have been written about it. Most famous is Simon and Garfunkel's hit, "The Sound of Silence." But is it really that good to earn such a glowing reputation? Keith and Lee discuss, asking such questions as: is it really golden, is silence a sound, does it have a function when communicating, is it similar to a vacuum that needs to be filled with noise, can silence be intimidating, can it be put to good use when used in communication and personal leisure and is being comfortable with silence a sign of maturity? Good questions that lead to an interesting podcast episode.

IS THE ART OF CONVERSATION DEAD? ...

    - In this fast-paced, modern society with so much instant entertainment and gratifying distractions that cry out for our engagement Keith and Lee felt that discussing this question was very topical - and pertinent. Conversation, of course, is a vital bridge of communication but it's so much more being at the heart of relationships and friendships that can bring joy, laughter, enlightenment, entertainment, learning, stimulation and personal growth. A good conversation can stay in your memory for quite a long time. So can an encounter with a good conversationalist. Someone who can impart some of the above-mentioned attributes. Indeed such an encounter can not only be enriching but life changing.

    CHEATSHEETS FOR LIFE -

... If there is one thing Lee loves to do, then it's discussing life philosophies. He places a good deal on sound thinking that can help us to have our best shot at life. And who doesn't want that? Pulling out a list of forty life hacks that comprise some basic, yet profound, tips on living a productive and fulfilling life, Lee puts a few to Keith for a chat. Some Keith was familiar with and some he wasn't. In these days of easy, throw-away "facebook wisdom," it was refreshing for them to discuss their thoughts on the reasoning and outlooks that Lee picked out from the list. As per usual the boys shared from their personal thoughts and experiences with some of these hacks, which made this episode even more engaging.

  • IS VIOLENCE EVER JUSTIFIED?
    2025/03/12

    Is violence ever justified? ....

    - No one except the very disturbed likes violence. Religious people, peaceniks and romantics loudly espouse peaceful living as ethically and morally correct. Some strongly support the exhortation to turn the other cheek when struck, meaning that one shouldn't strike back. More practical people, some would say more realistic, would disagree saying violence or fighting can be justified. Indeed it should be used. But how? To defend yourself against aggression, attacks and invasion are the main reasons given to justify the use of violence. How about rising and striking first when one senses a threat that looks certain to do the same? And honour - should violence/fighting be used to avenge? Lee grew up on the mean streets of southern England while Keith grew up among peaceful country folk along the coast of Australia. Sharing their insights along with their personal experience led to an interesting discussion.
