Have you ever wondered why life sometimes gets harder when you’re doing exactly what God asks? In 1 Nephi 7:12–16, Nephi boldly testifies that “the Lord is able to do all things” for those who exercise faith in Him. Yet almost immediately afterward, his brothers become angry, bind him with cords, and leave him in the wilderness. Does opposition mean Nephi was on the wrong path? Not at all. His experience teaches us that faith doesn’t mean the absence of opposition. Following God doesn’t guarantee an easy road, and difficult circumstances don’t mean He has abandoned us. Nephi believed “the Lord is able” before he was delivered. That’s faith—not trusting God only after everything works out, but trusting His power while the outcome is still uncertain. If you’re facing opposition, discouragement, loneliness, unanswered questions, or circumstances you cannot change, remember: your circumstances do not limit God’s power. The Lord is still able. Scripture: 1 Nephi 7:12–16 The Lord is aware of you. He loves you. And He will guide you through your wilderness. Until next time, keep holding to the iron rod.
